My Story
At the age of seventeen, I was became mentored by a Civil Rights leader, Dr. Bernard Lafayette. He also currently runs Dr. Martin Luther King's organization, SCLC. I have been working in the peace building and conflict resolution field for over 15 years. I am an advanced, certified trainer in Dr. King's methodology of nonviolence.
I worked for one of the leading peacebuilding organizations in the world as the Project Administrator- for the Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (MD-ICCCR) at Columbia University.
I traveled to the Middle East as a student diplomat during the Arab Spring. I traveled through the West Bank, Israel, Jordan, and D.C. with the Olive Tree Initiative. I obtained the Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution Certificate, founder of the Students for Global Peacebuilding and the Peace and Justice Conference through the Center for Citizen Peacebuilding at UCI, and taught a course in Nonviolence at the University of California, Irvine. I have been asked to be a keynote speaker for several peacebuilding organizations.
I am also a California certified mediator, having worked in both the public and the corporate sector. I currently work as the Education Specialist for the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC). I develop and teach curriculum based on conflict resolution, nonviolence, mindfulness, career development, and other peacebuilding approaches.
